A total of 58mm of rain has been recorded at the eastern end of Goondiwindi overnight!

With more rain predicted today it has caused a mid-season delay for Cotton Harvest 2023. This does mean we will have a few days off, but after a couple of busy weeks clocking over plenty of hours, it will be well deserved!

On the contrary, you couldn’t ask for a better start to the winter crop season. The rain will be beneficial for the already planted oats and barley, and some early varieties of wheat, as well as opening up the opportunity for more planting of oats, barley and wheat to occur throughout the Goondiwindi area.

This will also follow through to create more job opportunities for planting in the next couple of weeks and then later in the year when harvesting starts.
